Texas and California plan to redraw the maps of their congressional districts. I know what you’re thinking, Why now? Why should I care?

Voter suppression is the key to what is happening across the country. The plan in Texas is to take away five democratic seats. Including the district of Representative Jasmine Crockett.

Democrats responded resolutely. The proposed new map for California plans to add five Democratic seats to counter Texas.

Governors of Maryland Wes Moore has confirmed his is considering redrawing the map in Maryland. Maryland only has one Republican congressman, Representative Andy Harris.

In the 2024 Presidential election Donald Trump won 27 of Texas’ 38 districts. While Kamala Harris won 41 of the 52 districts in her home state of California.

Other states could be influenced by this chain of events. The Republican party wants to ensure their majority as midterms approach.

In a social media post the President posted, “Missouri is now IN.” The only two Democrats representing Missouri are Black Men, Emanuel Cleaver and Wesley Bell.
